The GEOSS Era: Towards Operational Environmental Monitoring
The Organising Committee is currently developing a process for an "all electronic" program.
An innovative program is currently being designed by our Technical Committee, supported by an International Committee of experts from many regions of the world. Members have worked collaboratively to develop a program that builds on our Symposium theme "The GEOSS Era: Towards Operational Environmental Monitoring". Key topics to be covered include

- Agriculture: food crisis and reducing poverty and hunger

- Coastal and Marine resources
- Water: a limited and degraded resource

- Regional, international programs and applications
- Airborne remote sensing applications and technologies
- Data and Information systems: spatial data infrastructures emerging technologies
- Societal benefits of earth observations: applications and assessment methodologies
